Starting Weight & Body Composition Measurements

Today, I am starting a 76 day challenge. By January 1, 2022, I want to have lost 8% of my body fat. Also, I would like to simultaneously increase my muscle mass as much as possible.

Unlike in the past, I am not setting a body weight goal. My focus is on reducing body fat percentage to the athletic/fitness range so that I can improve the metabolic syndrome caused by taking olanzapine. Having a lower body fat percentage also helped my asthma improve greatly.

Instead of focusing on how my body will look, I am focusing on improving my internal health. At my age, I am less interested in the aesthetics of fitness and more interested in the wellness aspects of fitness. I would like to have ripped abs, but for my starting goals, I am focusing more on the health angle as I think that, more than appearance, will motivate me to work out on days when I would rather be a lazy lump.

So, here are today’s Week 1 measurements!

Helpful Products That I Use

If you would like to join my fitness journey by using the the same helpful products (or similar products) that I am using, please see the affiliate links below. Any sales through Nibbana Wellness on Amazon will fund an Amazon gift card that I will use to buy more products to feature here.

Renpho Body Composition Scale

I love this scale! Before using this scale, I used skin calipers and while they are helpful, they are time consuming. I still use calipers from time-to-time to keep my skills up, but this scale has been wonderful for keeping track of my body composition as well as the body compositions of my two daughters. In the past, I was put-off by smart scale prices, but the Renpho scale is reasonable priced.
